Leah loves the drive from Metropolis to the farm on any day. Hanging out in Sam's Porsche, the window down, chatting and listening to him describe all the new sights as they go. They come here rarely enough that the seasons change, and talking about the autumn changes is a decent substitute for seeing them.
And today is a extra special reason for driving out there. They're going to see Sam's nephew.

"Yeah, that's right, kiddo. That's your Uncle Sam. He's a whiny bitch, but he's OK."

"Hey, Johnny," she says, now grinning. "What's up?"

"He can't actually talk yet," he stage-whispers. "Just so you know."

There is some experimental rocking here, slow so as to not jar Leah's hand. "Hey, Johnny."

She just tugs on the hand a little bit, staying close to Sam and the baby.
"Really?" she asks Dean. "When does that start, then?"

He's a little surprised Dean never asked for Winchester. But then, the amount of trouble that came to them over that name, maybe his brother's just being protective.

Leah's not even commenting on the name. She's just sticking with 'Johnny.'
"That's his Mom, right?"

She's standing back a little, watching Sam and Leah with a smirk.

John gurgles a bit, happily, and squeezes Leah's finger, and graces them both with a gummy smile.

Her thumb slides down his arm, and ends up in his mouth, her hand now stretching like she's spanning an octave of his arm.

"Um, yeah. He's got some good kids to look after him."

Which will be good, when Dean leaves. Which he will, before ... before too much longer. Probably.

A little distracted by Loo's decision to ride the squid, she grins.
"Well, that's the farm for you. Never short of people."
